The Art of Your Wedding Live Painting, Guest Portraits & Analog Film

by SAIC alum,

Brandon Marquette Williams,

October Coast Art: Studios.

Capturing the Soul of Your Celebration. Standard photography captures how your wedding looked, but art captures how it felt. I am a multi-disciplinary artist serving Chicago and the West Suburbs, specializing in capturing the unscripted magic of your day through paint and film.

From the brushstrokes of your first dance to the nostalgic grain of analog film, I create heirlooms that you can hold, frame, and cherish forever.

[The Packages]

[Á La Carte & Add-Ons]

Vintage Film Photography (Add-On) Capture the "vibe" that digital cameras miss.

  • Investment: $400

  • The Gear: Shot on a classic Contax 139 using CineStill Film.

  • The Look: Authentic, grainy, and nostalgic. I capture candid moments—laughter, textures, and atmosphere—with a soft, vintage aesthetic.

  • Deliverable: High-resolution scans of the roll (Choice of Color or Black & White).

Large Format 4x5 Portrait Session: The ultimate fine-art heirloom. A slow, staged portrait taken on a vintage bellows camera.

  • Investment: $600

  • Timing: This session requires patience and precision. We schedule this for your Rehearsal Dinner, or 20 minutes before/after your ceremony.

  • The Result: A breathtakingly detailed, large-negative portrait that looks like it belongs in a museum.

Interactive "Paint-by-Number" Canvas: A collaborative activity where your guests help paint a large canvas of the two of you.

  • Investment: $500 (Add-on)

  • Requirements: Couple must provide a photo 3–4 weeks in advance for custom canvas preparation.

The "Art of the Day" Coffee Table Book

  • Investment: $300+

  • I compile high-res scans of your main painting, guest sketches, and film photos into a professional hardcover book.

[Frequently Asked Questions]

Q: How can you paint AND take photos? Won't you be busy?

A: I am a fast, decisive painter. My workflow allows me to step away from the easel during "drying breaks" or key transitions to snap candid film photos without falling behind on the main artwork.

Q: When do we do the 4x5 Portraits?

A: Large format photography is a slow art form (that’s part of the charm!). We cannot do this during the middle of the party. We will schedule a dedicated 20-minute window—either at your rehearsal dinner, during your "First Look," or immediately following the ceremony—to ensure we get the perfect shot without rushing.

Q: How do the Guest Sketches work?

A: I use a tool called a Lucida, which allows me to capture accurate likenesses very quickly. Guests sit for just a few minutes, and they leave with a finished watercolor or pencil sketch in a protective sleeve.

Q: Do you travel?

A: Yes! I am based in the West Suburbs/Chicago area but am happy to travel. (Travel fees may apply for locations outside the immediate area).

Let's Make Something Beautiful. Your wedding deserves more than just a gallery of digital files. Let’s create tangible art. Dates for the 2025/2026 season are limited.
