I’m Brandon Marquette Williams, a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). I specialize in watercolor, pencil, and my signature Ink and Bleach technique. I’ve been drawing portraits professionally since 2019, and I would love to add your wedding to my portfolio.

How does it work?

The best way to get started is through my website. Contact me through email or phone (brandon@octobercoast.art) to inquire about my event painting services.

For weddings, I usually attend the rehearsal to get a good idea of the setting for the official wedding portrait. This allows me to plan the layout of the portrait and background in advance. At the actual wedding, I will paint the ceremony live. Then, at the reception, I will set aside a space to do watercolor portrait sketches for any and all guests who want one. Why not? They’re all dressed up for the occasion!

Each portrait will include your name and the wedding date.

How much time and money are we talking about?

I’m a fast and prolific artist, so I won’t hold up your wedding! A full watercolor painting takes about two hours. Portraits take 10 to 20 minutes, so it will be first-come, first-served for guests who want one.

The cost will vary depending on factors such as the distance to the venue, the size of the finished main piece, and any extras you’d like. A safe estimate is $1,500 to $3,000. Extras could include framing, specialty papers, custom mediums (yes, I do oil paintings, but they take significantly more work on my part), delivery, and a coffee table book containing every portrait I do, along with notes and photos.

I do require a 50% deposit, but I know that weddings can be expensive, so please feel free to discuss your budget with me. We’ll make it work.
