October Coast Art

Film & Media Services

Analog Key Art, Sequential Storyboarding, and Atomospheric Concept Design.

Welcome. I am Brandon, an SAIC-trained illustrator and photographer. My practice bridges the gap between traditional narrative illustration and historic, alternative photographic processes.

For independent film, genre cinema, and media production, October Coast Art offers a unique blend of practical analog techniques and dense, folklore-driven world-building to elevate your pre-production visuals and marketing materials.

PROMOTIONAL & KEY ART (ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY)

In an era of digital filters, practical analog effects stand out. I utilize a custom trichromatic multi-camera rig to capture moving subjects on black-and-white film, which are then developed and layered into striking, ghosted RGB color separations.

This process captures the physical ghosts of movement, creating eerie, unpredictable, and highly atmospheric imagery. It is the perfect aesthetic for:

  • Theatrical Poster Design & Teaser Art

  • Title Sequences & Texture Generation

  • Editorial Promotional Materials

SEQUENTIAL STORYBOARDING

Before a single frame is shot, the pacing, atmosphere, and blocking must be established. As the creator and illustrator of graphic novels like Hell Creek and Sasquatch Summer, my background in sequential art translates directly into cinematic storyboarding.

I understand how to move a camera on paper. I offer:

  • Detailed Pre-Production Storyboards

  • Action & Sequence Blocking

  • Pitch Deck Illustrations

WORLD-BUILDING & CONCEPT DESIGN

My illustration work is heavily rooted in folklore, nature, and contemporary mythology. Whether you are developing a creature feature, a dark folktale, or a highly specific environmental biome, I provide rigorous, research-based drafting to visualize your script.

Additionally, I utilize the ancient chemistry of cyanotype printing—creating sun-exposed, living images on raw cotton and paper—which serves as a brilliant medium for in-world prop creation (like cursed documents, historical maps, or archival journals).

  • Creature & Character Concept Art

  • Environment & Biome Design

  • In-World Analog Props (Cyanotypes & Zines)

LET'S BUILD SOMETHING.

I am currently accepting freelance contracts for pre-production illustration and marketing key art.
